How much does it cost to buy car in the US?

This depends on the Make and model of the vehicle you choose and the amount of compliance work required. Before you make any purchase decisions Car Export Direct will provide you with a full "Total Cost" quote that will provide you a price break-down and all expenses required.

Do I have to pay duty?

This depends on where you live. For our Canadian customers there is no duty on a vehicle made in North America. If the vehicle is made outside of North America a 6.1% duty will be applied to the purchase price.

Do I have to pay taxes on the vehicle?

This depends on when you live. For our Canadian customers you will be required to pay GST (5%) of the purchase price and PST (if your applicable).

Do I have to pay US taxes?

No, when you purchase a vehicle from Car Export Direct you are not required to pay US taxes, unless you are buying the vehicle for domestic use.

Will the manufacturer honor their warranty?

This depends on the Make and Model of vehicle you purchase and what country you are from. In some cases the manufacturer will honor their warranty. We provide our customers information on this when we give them a quote.

Are there any "hidden" costs?

Car Export Direct provides a "Total Cost" quote which allows you to know the EXACT price it will cost you to get the vehicle to your location.

How much does shipping cost?

This depends on what type of vehicle you are purchasing and where you would like it shipped. In our "Total Cost" estimate we break out the price for freight, so you will know the cost.
